IMRO: "InunDations, a new double album showcase of live performances recorded in Studio 2 @ Galway Bay FM is released on Friday May 31st, with all proceeds going to The Samaritans. Recorded over the past twelve months as part of Jon Richards’ in studio sessions, InunDations features tracks from some of the biggest names in music from both at home and abroad.

The impressive line up reads like a whose who of Irish music today and includes Mundy, Damien Rice, The Frames, Hothouse Flowers, The Devlins, Skindive, Juliet Turner, Relish, The 4 of Us, Jack L, The Saw Doctors, Mary Black, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Eleanor McEvoy, Don Baker and many more. Also featured are winning acts from this years Hot Press Awards, including Best Female Singer Gemma Hayes, Roots music award winner Cara Dillon and Philip Lynott Newcomer Award winners, The Revs.

Internationally renowned artists from abroad also feature alongside talented and exciting newcomers. Canadian Ron Sexsmith contributes a fine moment, as does Lloyd Cole who does a remarkable reworking of “Brand New Friend”. There are also remarkable performances from guitarist Pierre Bensusan and Idaho born Josh Ritter. Up and coming stars like powerful blues artist Chaz De Paulo, the hypnotic, compelling voice of Charis’ John Connolly and the vastly underrated Brando fly the flag for new artists.

All of the featured tracks were recorded by Richards and are just a snapshot of the treasure trove of original music that Galway Bay FM has had the pleasure of broadcasting over the past year. Of the recording Richards says, “I believe the sessions have only scratched the surface and judging by the outstanding performances from Glen Hansard on “Revelate”, Damien Rice’s “Woman like a man”, Mundy’s “Mayday” and The Saw Doctors “Clare Island” to name but a few, the journey continues...”

InunDations is released on Friday May 31st and contains 37 stunning tracks for the special price of just €20, with all proceeds going to The Samaritans. It is also being released in DVD style casing and is sure to rapidly become a collector’s item.

"Conservatives will be outraged by National Public Radio's fourth volume in its blisteringly liberal All Songs Considered series. From the opening beats of Senegalese dance band Orchestre Baobab's "Utras Horas," it's obvious that the compilers are merely laying the foundation for their battle against cohesion. Patty Larkin is brought in to quell the impending riot with the mournful 9/11 inspired "All That Innocence," leaving Damien Rice naked before the wolves, armed only with a guitar and a beautiful string section on the lovely "Delicate." The assault begins anew with the voice of Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt announcing the opening of the of the World's Fair on Piñataland's ridiculously fun "1939." Grandaddy appears out of nowhere with the anthemic "Now It's On" clearing the way for Itzhak Perlman and Oscar Peterson's deviant version of "Stormy Weather," leaving the right wing to be tended to by missionaries of rock, the Polyphonic Spree. The finale is questionable, as Montserrat Figueras' medieval lullaby remains neutral, a sonic Switzerland between political adversaries bent on destroying the world one song at a time. U2, Avril Lavigne, R.E.M. and Pearl Jam are among the artists donating tracks to a benefit album for Aung San Suu Kyi, an imprisoned Burmese humanitarian known to some as "Asia's Nelson Mandela."

For the Lady: Dedicated to Freeing Aung San Suu Kyi and the Courageous People of Burma, due October 26, features previously released tunes by Lavigne, Coldplay, Bright Eyes and Travis, while Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Damien Rice and Better Than Ezra contribute live cuts unavailable anywhere else. Also exclusive to the album is "Let Freedom Ring," a studio track by Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello's solo incarnation, the Nightwatchman.

U2 dedicated their contribution, "Walk On," to Aung San Suu Kyi on All That You Can't Leave Behind, the album on which it first appeared. The double album's final track, "Tempest of Blood," was written by a jailed student activist for democracy in Burma (which is also known as Myanmar).

Aung San Suu Kyi is the world's only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient. For her efforts to promote democracy and human rights in Burma, she has garnered the support of President Bill Clinton, Senator John McCain, former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Secretary of State Colin Powell and Desmond Tutu, among others. For the past 14 years, she has been under house arrest by Burma's repressive junta.

Proceeds from the sale of the album will benefit the nonprofit organization U.S. Campaign for Burma.
