Tracks:
 A. The Handsome Family - I Know You Are There
 B. The Nineteenth Bar - Don't Be Gone Too Long

"Similar to the Handsome Family's contribution, the 19th Bar side is another love song of sorts. Gram Parsons used to speak of the "cosmic music" and this, for me, is the sound of the cosmos, via Dublin. The line-up of Barry McCormack (Jubilee Allstars), Joe Doyle (The Frames), Brian Rice (Jubilee Allstars) and Graham Hopkins (Therapy?) may sound incongruous on paper. In reality, it's a heart-pounding country-rock harmony revue. Maybe we'll get them to play live again sometime."

"The band RAUŠ from Valašské Meziříčí has been playing since 1998 in composition: guitar, percussions, bass guitar and vocals. Their music sounds with the shades of explosiveness, pain, and melancholic daydreaming, it brings inventive melodies mixed up with the rawness of club rockers. You can notice interesting details in their music.

The band was established by Radek Koutný (guitar, vocals), who recorded in the course of last seven years six albums with the Czech cult band Mňága & Žďorp. Guitar and vocals he is accompanied by Jiří Petřek. The third support is John Janečka, singing drummer

In the time of their existence Rauš released two maxi singles (Black and White World, 1999; We Float in the Space, 2002) and he appeared on the compilation Valmez 99. After four years of active concerting they played among others on the tour with Austrian Tres Hombres, Czech cult band Mňága Žďorp, many interesting contacts abroad and last they became well-liked by Irish The Frames.

Rauš dedicated this year to the realization of the debut album Grazes. This event is unique because of the cooperation with the names of world music stage. It was Glen Hansard who his time with production preparation of the album. American sound man and musician Rob Bochnik, direct workmate of Steve Albini in Electrical Audio Chicago (NIRVANA’s album In Utero), contributed with his experience to the sound direction of the record.

Rob Bochnik worked on the sound of the bands for example Neurosis, Shellac, Smog, Suprechunk and Zwan in the last years. Both musicians also appear in the songs of Rauš. On the album Grazes Rauš pushes itself forward through all the layers of the guitar rock. Next to the intimate version of the song „Hotel Savoy“ by Oldřich Janota stands fair punk song „I am, you are“, follows guitar explosion „Be yourself“, with the melody „My ex-loved“ one is getting goose skin."

Title: Kachina (May 5 2005)
Format: CD
Copyright: Duigo

Tracks:
01. Kachina (4:25)
02. Bealtaine (4:39)
03. Dance Of The Gypsy Queen (7:34)

"Two years ago, during his gig in McCarthys Bar Dingle, The Frames lead singer Glen Hansard was joined on stage by piper and whistle player Eoin Duignan and the result was “Kachina” a song celebrating the spirit of the invisible forces. On that special night Glen spontaneously came up with the words for the melody and with their strong message of hope he dedicated the performance to Eoin’s daughter Triona to encourage her out into the world.

With music written by Jon Sanders and Eoin Duignan and lyrics by Glen Hansard, “Kachina” has been recorded with backing vocals by Eilis Kennedy and has been released along with “The Dance of the Gipsy Queen” from Eoin’s highly acclaimed CD “Coumineol” and “Bealtaine” written by Jon Sanders from his forthcoming CD “Latitudes”, on a limited edition CD especially for Féile na Bealtaine, the Dingle arts festival now in is 11th year.

“Kachina” is also being released to celebrate the life and energy of Tadhg Ó Coileáin, who was a major force on the committee of Féile na Bealtaine and whose untimely death last year was a huge loss to his family, his friends and his community. Speaking about the CD Tadhg’s brother Aodh notes “it reflects Tadhg’s own aura. That air about him which often said; life is a great place, there are possibilities in my heart; we’ll go out there!”

The CD will be officially launched at 12 noon on Thursday 5th May in Cúilín Studios, Dingle by Mícheal Fanning, Eoin Duignan and Jon Sanders as part of the Féile na Bealtaine Festival and as only 1,000 CD's are being pressed demand is expected to be high, especially amongst Glen’s fans. All proceeds will go to the Dingle Hospice."
